Ashland, Oregon, Is Newest Bee City USA Community!

Welcome Ashland! On December 16, Ashland City Administrator Dave Kanner explained to City Council the requirements of applying for Bee City USA designation. The Parks & Recreation Commission is the committee designated to address Bee City USA issues. At the meeting, they announced their first initiative would be planting the city’s newest park, Ashland Creek Park, with pollinator-friendly plants.

Several Council members praised the Pollinator Project of the Rogue Valley for the polite and positive way in which they had educated the community and requested consideration of becoming a champion for pollinators.

Receiving Ashland’s signed resolution and application on January 13 completed the process and allowed Bee City USA to officially certify Ashland.
