Ashland, Ore., Votes Unanimously to Become a Bee City USA Community!

Picture

The bees are asking for our help and cities and towns are listening. Last night, Ashland’s City Council voted unanimously to make Ashland even more hospitable to pollinators. One of the grassroots organizers, Kristina LeFever, wrote a guest opinion in the Ashland Daily Tidings.

Ashland is home to both the Oregon Honey Festival and the College of the Melissae: Center for Sacred Beekeeping.

This photo was taken of Kristina at the City Council study session in October.  Who could say no to a woman wearing not one, but two sets of wings?
