Bee City USA is very excited to finally be able to answer the frequent question from Ashevillians, "What should I plant to help the pollinators?"

The Asheville Citizen Times published our "Plant something to feed pollinator friends" guest column today with links to a plant list that is native to the Asheville area, the plants are attractive and pollinator friendly, and area nurseries stock them. The list indicates bloom time and color, sun and moisture needs, and which pollinators benefit.

More importantly, Bee City USA has crafted a process that any community can use to develop its own native, pollinator friendly plant list. This step-by-step process is posted at our "Create Custom Pollinator Plant List" page.
